The original Romanian Numa song craze had long since passed. I wasn't too big on 'internet sensations', save for Star Wars Kid. So I was a little late in the game. I didn't really care for/listen to Numa Numa until that Chicken Little movie came out. But anyone, I was surfing Youtube one day, and I came across a Final Fantasy 7 video. It featured the Numa Numa song, but this version was in English. At first I laughed because of the nature of the video compared to the music. But I found myself watching it over and over just to hear the song. I was hooked! I had to download it. So away to Emule I went!
After downloading this annoyingly catchy song, the one part in particular caught my attention (in the video around 1:28). The cellphone beeping sound. Well, I was in a bit of an RE4 mood during that time. I had recently played and beaten Ada Wong's 'Separate Ways', and that beeping reminded me of her and her damn pager. So I figured I'd do a little animation of that- Ada with her phone, just beeping. And that would be it.
But...
As I doodled and listened to the song on repeat... Images kept popping into my head. All sorts of ways to connect the Resident Evil series to this damn catchy song. "Made something that's real..." I pictured Birkin making his 'precious G-Virus'. So I drew it. Then, as it came next, I drew out the section of Ada, Wesker and the beeping phone. "Ooo-ah Ooo-ah hey". How on earth do I make those lyrics work? Then it hit m like a sack of bricks. Cerberus howling! ....And so on. I literally made the video up as I went along, using all of my knowledge of Resident Evil that I could muster. After every scene I finished, I would listen to the next batch of lyrics over and over again until I'd be blessed with another idea.
This, out of any video I've made is the hardest I've ever worked on. Every day I was excited to listen to the song and dream up more scenarios. And so, after accumulating over 48 hours of work, Resident Evil Numa was born.
Resident Evil New Numa
Seeing as how the Numa Song became my calling card, I wanted to work on remixes and improvements. Resident New Numa was mostly me just trying to up my animation skills, seeing as how original RE Numa barely had any moving frames. This time around, I gathered up even more RE characters, even Outbreak and Survivor people. As it says in the video description; no remake can surpass it's original (unless by a miracle), but overall I am very pleased with the outcome of this video. And I absolutely lurve this remix.
Resident Evil Numa REmake
After my 'Character Upgrade' video, I received a large amount of requests to remake Resident Evil Numa. I had been playing around with the idea for a while before, but I hadn't really seen any reason to until after the upgrade video. At first I wasn't even going to do it at all... I thought I might be doing an overkill using that song, what with 3 videos already featuring it. And Jack always told me never to use that song again (he hates it oh so much XD) but I couldn't help myself... as an artist, I wanted to take what was already loved, and coat it with chocolate! Or something like that O_o
And so I present what I consider to be my finest work of animation. I am extremely happy with how this turned out, and I am glad I decided to do this remake.
Resident Evil Numa On Speed!
...Pretty much explains itself. It was made from sheer boredom. XP
